NHTC/NE3/Grassfed Enrollment Information

Basic Steps for Verified Beef Enrollment in NHTC, NE3, or Grasfed:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Throughout the website and tool, any information related to NHTC, NE3, or Grassfed also implies (by default) that it is Age and Source as well.

  1. Download The Enrollment Form, fill it out, and submit the form to us via email:
    • You must enroll in age and source.
    • You can then enroll in either NHTC or NE3
    • In addition to the above, you can also enroll in Grassfed program
  2. Register for a free account on this website using the links provided to the right.
  3. If not contacted via an admin after registering within 5 business days, please use the Contact Us page to send an email about your completed form and registration.
  4. After contact, provide payment along with extra payment information via contact with the VB admin.
  5. Complete the Age and Source Training Material & Quiz and the NHTC/NE3/GF Training Material & Quiz, or both the Age and Source and NHTC/NE3/Grassfed Training Quizes online (links for quizes located on the right side of the main Account Area after logged in).
  6. Agree to the Verified Beef Quality Management System with its records and on-site ranch audit requirements.
  7. Submit a copy of your calving records for review.
  8. Once training is complete and an admin has verified your grade, you may begin using the online tool as you see fit.  The User Guide will help with most aspects of the tool.
  9. Provide feedback to Verified Beef on the value of their services.

Requirements:

  1. An understanding of the complete Verified Beef process, services, and requirements.
  2. An on-site ranch audit that includes complete review of your records, feed and rug stocks, policies and procedures followed, plus may include a visit to your veterinary and feed supplier.
  3. Ranch records to be reviewed are: calving records with birth dates of first birth recorded, any feed records and drug records with purchase invoices, inventory records, administered amounts, “fallout” procedures, VB authorized drug and feed list, and letters of understanding of program requirements from veterinary and feed supplier.
  4. Insurance that ranch records are kept for a minimum of three (3) years.
  5. RFID tags must be received from Verified Beef.
  6. RFID tags are administrated to only one group, but Verified Beef administrator can move tags to another group.
  7. Insurance that ranch understands “fall out” procedures and requirements (see OP9).
  8. All “fall out” calves from original registered group must be visually identified as non-compliant calf, whether notching ranch hang tag, inserting new tag or using a Verified Red hang tag.
  9. The birth date of a group will be the earliest birth date of the group. If the last birth date is recorded, it will also be recorded in the data base and printed on group certificate.
  10. Bull turn out date or AI records may be used as supplementary verification of the oldest birth date of the group.
  11. Age and Source and NHTC/NE3 or Grassfed audits must take place before cattle leave the ranch.
  12. Verified Beef RFID tags must be applied to all cattle before they leave the ranch of origin.
  13. If you have a diversified operation (more than one cow/calf operation), you must ensure cattle can be uniquely identified to that specific group.
