Age and Source Enrollment Information
Basic Steps for Verified Beef Enrollment:
- Download The Enrollment Packet, fill it out, and submit the form to us via email.
- Register for a free account on this website using the links provided to the right.
- If not contacted via an admin after registering within 5 business days, please use
the Contact Us page to send an email about your completed form and registration.
- After contact, provide payment along with extra payment information via contact
with the VB admin.
- Complete the Supplier Training Material & Quiz or complete the quiz online (links for the online quiz located on the right side of
the main Account Area).
- Agree to the Verified Beef Quality Management System with its records and ranch
audit requirements.
- Once training is complete and an admin has verified your grade, you may begin using the online tool as you see fit. The User Guide will help with
most aspects of the tool.
- Provide feedback to Verified Beef on the value of their services.
Requirements:
- An understanding of the complete Verified Beef process, services, and requirements.
- Ranch audits on ranch records to verify age-source data in accordance:
- Initial approved supplier with annual reviews - desk-side
- Random 10% on-site annually thereafter
- All ranch records/data. Minimum Requirements for ranch records are that birth date of the first calf is recorded. Copy of birth records must be submitted by Verified Beef.
- Ranch records must be maintained for a minimum of three years.
- RFID tags must be obtained by prodcuer from Verified Beef.
- RFID tags are assigned to one calving group, but Verified Beef administrator can
move tags to another group, if requested by rancher.
- The birth date used for a group will be the earliest birth date in the group. If last brith date is reported, then it will also be listed on certificate.
- Bull turnout dates or AI records may be used as supplementary verification of the oldest birth date of
a group.
- Age and Source verification audit must be completed prior to the cattle leaving the original
ranch (including RFID Tag).
- If you have a diversified operation (more than cow/calf operation), you must ensure
cattle can be identified uniquely to a specific group.
